He wowed packed crowds at two North East festivals over Bank Holiday weekend but one place Lewis Capaldi's fans never expected to see him was behind the counter at Greggs!
But that's exactly what happened before the chart topping singer took to the stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Middlesbrough.
Many fans couldn't even get anywhere near the stage when Lewis performed in Stewart Park on Saturday afternoon, however before his set which was rounded off by his huge number 1 single Someone You Loved he served some of them in the Marton branch of Greggs.
As you can see in the video above, Lewis was looking very much the part in his Greggs uniform, complete with bright red apron, and told his social media followers he was doing a bit of "work experience."
While shocked fans walked into the shop and shouted "oh my god!" Lewis juggled orders of classic Greggs goods like cheese and onion pasties and sausage rolls.
Up the road in Newcastle, Lewis was rewarded for his efforts when Greggs sent him and other headliners at This is Tomorrow festival limited edition boxes of baked goods to enjoy before they hit the stage in Exhibition Park.
A spokeswoman for Greggs said: "We’ve excitingly created some bespoke Greggs - welcome to the Toon boxes which include some of the best Greggs goodies - sausage rolls / vegan sausage rolls as well as a card with a personalised message and a high roller gift card.
"Behind the scenes we’ll also be feeding some of the crew too."
