Lewis Capaldi spotted out for his messages in Sauchiehall Street Tesco

Fans of Lewis Capaldi have spotted the star across the city in recent months in Dennistoun, at a cafe in Hyndland, out walking in Queen's Park and in The Social in the city centre.

But even then, one fan was no doubt surprised to see the singer popping in for a bit of shopping in Tesco on Sauchiehall Street.

Capaldi, who announced he is taking a social media break in order to focus on writing his second album, was spotted in getting some messages at the store last night.

Fan Paul MacBride posted a photo of the singer alongside the caption: "Lewis Capaldi, an absolute gent u were the nite in Tesco Sauchiehall St, good man, great to see fame hasnae gone to your head".

It follows comedian Kevin Bridges telling Capaldi that he had "some da" after he received a delivery of a box of fresh fish from the star's dad, who runs KP's Fresh Fish in Bearsden.

Back in November, the 'Someone You Loved' singer gave a shout-out to his dad's business on Instagram, telling his 5.5m followers to "buy their gran a sea bass for Christmas".
