Lewis Capaldi is reportedly back on the market after splitting with his girlfriend of seven months.
The 23-year-old West Lothian singer met Catherine Halliday, 21, before lockdown and was said to be 'smitten' with the 21-year-old student over summer.
However, sources claim the pair have gone their separate ways because now is not the right time to settle down due to the hitmaker's busy work schedule.
The Someone You Loved singer is said to be on the lookout for love again and is on new celebrity dating app Raya.
A source told The Sun : “Lewis has no hard feelings towards Catherine and they’re still amicable but they decided it was best to call it a day.
"He’s at the beginning of his career, with a lot of opportunity at his fingertips, so it’s not the right time to settle down.
“He wishes Catherine all the best and has fond memories of their dates together.
Lewis met the 21-year-old Scottish red-head after being introduced by mutual friends at the start of the year.
The loved-up pair were spotted cosying up on a date at a pizzeria in his hometown of West Lothian before lockdown began in March.
The couple are believed to have kept in touch throughout the pandemic – although they isolated apart as they stayed with their respective families.
Lewis is said to be working on his new album – a follow up to his 2019 record Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent.
News of his love split could be a shock to fans, as it had been reported he had penned a special track in tribute to Catherine on his record.
A source said earlier this year: “He’s smitten with Catherine and although it’s early days she has a nod on one of the tracks he has written.
“Lewis mentions her heir and it’s really quite special. She’s made him realise how to be happy again.”
The star may have changed his tune now in light of the split.
Lewis revealed he had found love earlier this year when asked by a fan if he preferred being single or in a relationship.
He joked: "I'm in a relationship so if I said the other one, my girlfriend would kill me.
"I've never told anybody I'm in a relationship, so there you go.
"She's got red hair, she's got quite a posh voice. And that's that, that's all you're getting."
Lewis previously dated Scottish Love Island winner Paige Turley after the pair met at college.
