Lewis Capaldi shares cryptic post after ex Paige apologises to him on Love Island

Lewis Capaldi shared a mysterious post on Twitter after his ex Paige made her Love Island debut.

The singer was named dropped by his spurned giggling former flame during Sunday's first ever winter launch.

Fans watched as the blonde bombshell boldly claimed her ex's chart-topping song Somebody You Loved was all about her.

Perhaps on reflection, Lewis then shared a cryptic post in the morning on his social media page with his 873.2K followers.

He wrote: "2020 is my year."

Lewis added a heart and a shooting star emoji to polish off the tweet.

During Sunday's launch, Paige did make a public apology to her ex for being a "b****".

She said during her VT: "One of my ex boyfriends is Lewis Capaldi. According to the papers his song Some One You Loved was about me.

"Lewis, I'm so sorry I must have been a b***h" to you."

Only last year, the songwriter had made no secret he hoped his song Somebody You Loved would be played on the summer version of the show.

Fans had gushed his song would be perfect for any moments when islanders were pied off by their loved one on the telly show.

The Scottish singer responded saying he "f******" hoped the TV bosses would play his top song because of the "cash" in a tweet.

"A f****** hope so think of the cash," he wrote in February 2019.
