Lewis Capaldi sends surprise video message to P7 children on last day at West Lothian school

Chart-topper Lewis Capaldi recently sang an , and it seems he had another surprise up his sleeve.

The Someone You Loved singer left children and parents "starstruck" after he sent them a video message for P7 pupils at a leavers' assembly.

The children at Howden St Andrew's RC school in Livingston had no idea he would be getting in touch with them.

They recently sang a school song to the tune of Someone You Loved and this seems the West Lothian star was keen to show his support.

A video from a parent shows the assembly laughing and cheering as Capaldi's message is projected in the hall in front of them.

He says: "I just wanted to say good luck going into secondary school. It's going to be class, it'll be the best years of your life."

He jokes about one of his friends getting "bullied mercilessly" and adds "tell your P7 teachers see you later."

The school posted on Twitter: "So leavers' assembly is done and the big surprise is out! Massive thanks to Lewis Capaldi for a message to our P7s!

"They were all starstruck and so were a lot of the parents and staff."
