Lewis Capaldi's Belsonic gig in June has been rescheduled

Lewis Capaldi's Belsonic gig, which was due to take place this summer, has been rescheduled to June 2022.

The news comes as major outdoor events in Belfast continue to be cancelled or rescheduled, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Scottish singer-songwriter was due to play his biggest ever headliner in Belfast on June 20, 2021. This had previously been rescheduled from a gig which was set to have taken place in June 2020.

Lewis Capaldi's rescheduled Belsonic gig will now take place on June 26, 2022, at Ormeau Park.

Capaldi made a statement on his social media pages today about the announcement, saying that he was redoubling his efforts to make the best second album that he can, and that because of the pandemic, he would be rescheduling his summer 2021 shows.

He told his fans: "It's with an extremely heavy heart that I've made the difficult decision to reschedule this year's shows and put all my efforts into making the best album I can for you."

The news follows on from heavy-metal rockers Rammstein announcing this week that they would be cancelling their Belfast Boucher Road gig entirely.

Rammstein's concert was set to be one of the biggest Belfast gigs of 2021.

There has been further update on the status of other Belsonic gigs at this time.
