Lewis Capaldi opens up to Hydro crowd about his Paolo Nutini man crush

Lewis Capaldi shared his love for fellow Scottish singer Paolo Nutini during his sold-out gig at Glasgow 's SSE Hydro.

In true Capaldi style he warmed up the crown with some patter before launching into his set.

And he was happy to reveal his man crush on Paisley's Nutini.

Capaldi said: "I'm sorry I'm not f**king Paolo Nutini, right. I'm not.

"No matter how hard I try I'll never be that beautiful man."

Capaldi has previously spoke about his regard for Nutini. Last month he sparked a mass hunt for the Last Request singer when he tweeted "Right enough's enough - where the f**k is paolo nutini?"

After Lewis’ query was liked by nearly 100,000 people and re-tweeted over 10,000 times, Paolo began trending worldwide as fans began a desperate search for the star.

One Direction's Niall Horan even joined in the search, replying to Lewis' tweet: "I want answers".

Nutini was eventually 'found' when the The Edinburgh Bookshop stepped shared a snap of him at book festival in Paisley.

Capaldi was also keen to tell the Glasgow Hydro crowd that he was 'home'.

The singer has previously said he feels like he's 'from Glasgow with a tinge of Edinburgh.'

He was born in Glasgow and lived there until he was four before moving east to Whitburn, West Lothian.

Capaldi was also keen to reference current affairs ahead of his set and told the crowd: "Yous have all probably got 'f***ing coronavirus... surprised they never shut this thing down."
