Lewis Capaldi records iconic 90s song featuring Noel Gallagher in nod to chart topper at time of his birth

Lewis Capaldi has recorded a version of 'Setting Sun' by The Chemical Brothers and Noel Gallagher, as that was top of the charts the day he was born on October 7, 1996.

Along with YouTube Originals, Lewis made a short twenty minute 'Birthday Song' documentary about the influence music has had on his life since he was a baby and his journey to become the star he is today.

The short film also features Lewis' brothers Aidan and Warren as they talk about growing up in Glasgow and moving on to Whitburn when Lewis was five but also revealed that Lewis was not meant to be born at all as his dad was supposed to have a vasectomy.

Speaking during the episode, Lewis said: "Everyone was sad on my birthday. You should’ve seen my dad he was really sad, and my mum was even more sad. He was supposed to have had a vasectomy, I was a mistake. Thank God for that eh?!"

The documentary also showed how Lewis learned to play guitar at his school's guitar club where the first song he learned to play was Live Forever by Oasis, which he played at the school talent show with his pal and won it.

YouTube Originals 'Birthday Song' saw Lewis create his own unique version of his Birthday Song, ‘Setting Sun’ by the Chemical Brothers featuring Noel Gallagher.

It's pretty ironic as Lewis and Noel had a run in last year when during an interview Noel said: "Music is f****** w*** at the moment, who is this Capaldi fellow?” which Lewis talks about in the short episode.

At the time, radio host Roman Kemp said the feud between the two 'was basically the biggest beef of the 21 century after Kanye West and Taylor Swift'

Lewis responded to Noel's comments by getting my hair cut like his brother Liam, dressing up like him and dressing up in a shirt with Noel's face on it with a love heart on it and even went on stage at TRNSMT last year with a chewbacca mask on after Noel said: "Chewbacca should enjoy his 15mins of fame."

At the end of of the episode Lewis performs the stunning cover and he even says: "I mean I'm sorry if I've f***** up this song I'm but you shouldn't have made it so hard to cover. It's your own fault."
