Lewis Capaldi offers to be 'face of Tennent's' in hilarious radio interview

Singing sensation Lewis Capaldi has answered the question every Scot gets asked - Irn-Bru or Tennent's?

The West Lothian artist went down the alcohol route and chose Tennent's as his favourite drink out of the two.

Asked which iconic brand he'd rather be the face of, he had no hesitation.

And the Someone You Loved singer is happy to get involved.

Lewis Capaldi announces huge Hydro gig as part of UK arena tour - here's how to get tickets

Chatting to Garry Spence on Capital Scotland radio, he was asked: "Would you rather be the face of Tennent’s or IRN-BRU?”.

Lewis responded: “Tennent’s. There you go.

"And if they want to call me, I’d happily get involved.”

When Gary asked him why he said: "Because Tennent's gets you drunk and Irn Bru doesn't.'

Lewis is the latest in a long line of celebrities who have come out to admit their love for Scotland's favourite lager.

Line of Duty star Martin Compston took to social media earlier this month to reveal his delight at having a Tennent's tap installed in his house in Los Angeles.

Alan McGarrie, Group Brand Director at Tennent’s, said: “Having spent seven weeks at number one, Lewis clearly knows how it feels to be the nation’s favourite.

Martin Compston took to Twitter to thank Tennent's for his new lager tap (Twitter)

"That’s something we’re quite used to at Tennent’s, and I’m sure our friends at IRN-BRU feel the same.

“He’s already said he might be our new neighbour; we’re looking forward to catching up with him following this latest revelation – there may even be some more recognition coming for his success.”

Lewis Capaldi's appearance on Capital comes after he announced yesterday that he would be playing a huge gig at the Hydro on March 5, 2020.
