Lewis Capaldi looks for job in Edinburgh bakeries in hilarious live clip as he urges fans to download single

Lewis Capaldi has just released his new single but that's not stopped him from going on a deep dive of the Internet in search of jobs..just in case his music career flops.

In a hilarious live video, Lewis urged fans to download his new song "Before You Go", which was sitting at number two but has since dropped further down the charts.

But, if the country gets behind him, the West Lothian star hopes he can add yet another number one single to his growing list of achievements.

The song was released last week and is one of his most personal songs yet, written about his aunt's suicide when he was a child.

Speaking to the public, he said: "You f****** b******* you've made me come back on here on a Thursday afternoon.

"The Weekend has beaten us by a fraction, by a couple hundred sales. I thought my Thursday afternoon I'd get to relax and not have to sell some s*** but here I am."

"If I don't get a number one this week I'm on s1jobs right now and I'm going to apply to some jobs and I'm quitting music", he added.

The star, who's dad is a fish monger, had a look at jobs in Scotland but said he didn't really fancy working with food.

However, after considering a job at an Specsavers in Bishopbriggs, he found two local bakeries in Edinburgh that are currently looking for staff.

First up was Bayne's bakery in Portobello, the singer said: "I'm sure the bakery is lovely, Bayne's the bakers there you go free shoutout."

But it was family-run Kelly's Bakery in Sighthill shopping centre that really caught his eye.

He said that the bakery also seemed "lovely" but wasn't so sure about the graft, saying: "Making hot and cold filled rolls? Done. Cleaning? I'll get my mum into do that."

Though, when it it comes to having the necessary skills and experience the star believes he has what it takes, after a stint in Greggs last year where he got his hands dirty serving fans their steak bakes.

The Someone You Loved singer said: "I worked in Greggs for an hour and a half, so I'm in."

"I'm going to apply for Kelly's as a counter assistant and I'm going to make nine quid an hour, from 6am until 11:30pm, Monday to Friday and every second Saturday", he added.

Co-owner of the bakery, Jackie Kelly, said the bakery are backing the star's bid for the number one spot but that he would be more than welcome to join the team.

She told Edinburgh Live: "We are just happy that he wants to join our team. He must pop in for a pie and a cake on the house, we will be supporting his number one bid for Before We Go."

Well, there you have it, next time you nip into your local bakery in Edinburgh it could be Lewis serving you your pies.

You can download Before You Go here.

This isn't the first time Lewis Capaldi has cracked viewers up this week, he had two interviewers in stitches with his .
