Lewis Capaldi leaves McDonalds staff starstruck as he stops by Scots chain for a late night snack

Staff at McDonalds staff were delighted when Scots superstar Lewis Capaldi popped into the Forfar chain last night for a late night snack.

The Someone You Loved singer went to the drive thru to order his food but after staff asked him to come inside for a photograph he was more than happy to oblige.

The 23-year-old posed with staff, who were all wearing protective masks, at a two metre distance.

Member of staff Brooke Laird posted the picture on social media and said: "Not even sorry for posting it on here as well! Don’t mind working at mcds when Lewis Capaldi comes through the drive thru. Just to clarify.. our store is open for takeaway orders now as well, so he came into the store just like any other customer could."

Just last month, Lewis admitted to gaining 14lbs and 'love handles' during lockdown.

He said on US radio: “I’ve put on 14lb, I’ve put on love handles. It’s fine. It’s a pandemic, baby.”

Explaining his weight gain, he joked: “Like every-one else, I’ve been at home with idle hands.”

Last month, Lewis revealed he had splashed out on an expensive Peloton spin class bicycle – which cost £1895, plus a £39 per month subscription for unlimited video classes.

He told The Mirror: “I’ve just bought a Peloton, the thing you do spin classes on.

“When I finish my quarantine exercising and we’re back into the world, I’m going to walk around with my top off all the time drenched in baby oil.

“My abs are going to be glistening.”
