Lewis Capaldi is setting the record straight about the colour of his hair after being branded a redhead.
The 23-year-old chart topping star has been left miffed over rumours and speculation that his hair colour is brighter than it really is.
Lewis – who has recently confessed he is dating a mystery red headed woman – says he has spent his life happily living as a natural brunette, but fans have misinterpreted his hair colour since he found fame last year.
During a TikTok live video, the Someone You Loved singer seized a moment to address the issue – and he didn’t mince his words in the process.
He said: “For 23 years of my life, no one has called me ginger.
“But as soon as I got famous, everyone kept bringing up the fact I was a f***ing redhead.”
He added: ”But I am not. I’m not Ed Sheeran and no, I don’t have ginger hair. It’s brown.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone this month, Lewis joked that living with his parents during lockdown has sent his family close to the edge.
“I’m ready to literally fight my parents,” he told the American music magazine.
“It’s gonna come to a showdown between us before the end of this, and I’m quite glad for it.
“My dad’s been doing push-ups around the house.
“And then I saw my mum polishing some knuckle dusters. I thought, ‘Right, I better watch out.’ So I’ve been doing some squats,” he joked.
Earlier this month, Lewis was interviewed by Capital FM and asked whether he prefers being tied down or living the single life – revealing he is dating a redhead in the process.
"Well, I'm in a relationship, so if I said the other one, my girlfriend would kill me," the star joked.
"I've never told anybody that I'm in a relationship, so there you go...She's got red hair, she's got quite a posh voice.
"And that's that, that's all your getting."
