Lewis Capaldi had Buckfast parade as he partied with mum until 5am in Edinburgh club

Pop star Lewis Capaldi was drinking Buckfast in a club with his mum until they called it a night at 5am.

Lewis, 22, booked out Edinburgh club 4042 to celebrate two performances in Princes Street Gardens, at Edinburgh Summer Sessions .

About 200 people were invited to the bash and the club organised a Buckfast bottle parade instead of the more typical Champagne parade which is normally done for partying VIPs.

Video footage surfaced of Lewis swigging tonic wine straight out the bottle along with a pal, comedian Daniel Sloss.

A guest, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: "It was a celebration party because he had not had a chance to link up with every-one since having the number one.

"He was just mad cool.

"Everyone knows he is totally chilled but he was the last man standing with his family at the end.

"He was literally the last punter leaving."

Lewis, from Whitburn, West Lothian, also bought drinks for everyone and ordered pizzas from Edinburgh 's Civerinos restaurant.

Revellers also played beer pong - dubbed 'Capaldi pong'.

BBC Radio presenter Nihal Arthanayake also attended and tweeted that he "tried Buckfast for the first time".
