Lewis Capaldi drops new 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' merch and promises to send contestant a freebie

Lewis Capaldi has stuck to his word and released official merchandise with the logo 'I don't even know who Lewis Capaldi is' following the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire blunder which seen one contestant question who the Scots star was.

The Someone You Loved singer went on a Twitter rampage earlier in the week as contestant Clea appeared on the popular ITV show and was asked the question: "Who recorded the UK number 1 album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent."

Lewis told his fans that this hilarious TV moment had inspired him to create new merchandise and that's exactly what he done.

Taking to Twitter, Lewis posted a video with a hilarious remix of Clea's words and said: "The king of exploiting a joke long after it’s stopped being funny for monetary gain is back!!  Very limited ‘I don’t even know who Lewis Capaldi is’ merch available from the link below!"

The new merch includes a t-shirt and a hoodie with the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire question which retails at £25 and £50.

And as part of that every sale of the two items, £2 will be donated to Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

On the back of this, contestant Clea spotted the news from Lewis and reached out to him online.

She said: "Hey @LewisCapaldi. I really wanted me on a T-Shirt. I know who you are now. Sorry I didn't then. But I did apologise ...."

To which Lewis promised Clea she would receive a freebie. He said: "All is forgiven Clea!! I will see to it that you’re send a t shirt free of charge."

On the show, after she struggled to confidently pick an answer,  Clea ended up using all of her lifelines, including calling two of her friends who she said were in the music business but both of them were non the wiser and she then had to use her 50/50 lifeline.

Clea confessed she hadn’t heard of the Someone You Loved singer to which presenter Jeremy Clarkson said: "I hope he's watching".

Clea then said: "Oh I'm sorry Lewis!"

Jeremy Clarkson also admitted he had never heard of the Scots singer.

Due to this, Clea opted to choose Lewis as her final answer which seen her progress to the next round but it wasn't long before her dream of bagging the six figure sum came crashing down and she went home with only £1000.
