Lewis Capaldi drops in to his local Tony Macaroni in Livingston over the weekend

Lewis Capaldi may be an international star nowadays but this hasn't stopped him dining locally, at one of his favourite spots in West Lothian.

The down-to-earth Bathgate star is never one to take himself too seriously and was snapped grabbing a bite to eat in Tony Macaroni in Livingston over the weekend.

Diners dropping by the Italian restaurant chain may have got a shock when they saw the Someone You Loved singer, who is worth an estimated $10 million, tucking into some grub.

Taking to social media, Tony Macaroni said: "The main man himself, America's Sweetheart,  Lewis Capaldi  joined us in his local  Tony Macaroni  for dinner last night.

"Lewis has been coming to Tony Macaroni Livingston for years, we've even named a dish after him! Lewis Calamari is one of our most popular dishes!

"Great seeing you again Lewis! Bring us an anaconda next time."

Reacting to the post, some fans were gutted they'd missed their chance to dine alongside their idol.

Elsewhere, one person said they "hope he never changes", while another added "stay real Lewis".

The news comes after the the 23-year-old canceled three shows due to illness on his world tour.

In an Instagram video, he explained to fans why he pulled out. He said: "The reason for this is that my voice just hasn't been up to scratch the last couple of shows that we've done, and obviously it's the last thing I want to do is cancel shows but I don't want to do a gig that's not as good and push through and cause damage to my voice and not give you a proper show."
