Lewis Capaldi claims he is 'America's Sweetheart' in hilarious Instagram video

Lewis Capaldi left his fans in stitches after he claimed that US Border Patrol said that he is “America’s Sweetheart”.

The Scots singer took to his Instagram shortly after arriving at his hotel in Dallas as he embarks on the American leg of his world tour.

In his lengthy story, he claimed that a member of staff at US Border Patrol ‘looked like he saw a ghost’ when he was checking the passport of the real Someone You Loved musician.

“He didn’t believe it was me”, said Lewis.

Hanging on to the passport, the Scot said the staff member started to ‘tear up’ while proclaiming that Lewis Capaldi was the ‘saviour of music’.

He also claimed that the person on border control told him that he was the ‘biggest UK popstar in the last 20 years’ to come to Dallas.

Lewis's 18-month world tour will begin at the Granada Theatre in Dallas on Tuesday, September 17, before he heads to another 23 cities across North America.

His show then move to Europe in October and November, including dates in Edinburgh and Glasgow .

At the start of next year, Lewis will tour Australia, New Zealand and China before more dates at the Hydro in Glasgow and a show in Aberdeen.
