Lewis Capaldi chooses Glasgow over Edinburgh without hesitation in radio interview

Just days before he takes to the main stage at TRNSMT, Lewis Capaldi has cemented himself in the hearts of Glaswegians by choosing the west coast over Edinburgh.

In an interview with Cork's RedFM in Ireland, presenter Izzy Showbizzy told the Bathgate singer that she'd been researching where he lived, before realising it was right in the middle of Scotland's two biggest cities.

The presenter asked the singer songwriter: "Lewis you live between Edinburgh and Glasgow, I did my research on that, so where do your loyalties lie?"

Luckily, there was no hesitation from our Lewis, who replied saying: "Glasgow, I was born in Glasgow."

When pushed for more of an answer, Lewis replied: "I'm Glasgow just because that's where I was born and I was brought up there until I was about four. So I say Glasgow, kind of with an Edinburgh tinge."

Clearly aware of what a good  time Glasgow can be, the presenter went on to ask what Lewis Capaldi would do with her in Scotland's biggest city if he was to show her around.

In tune with the west, Lewis planned everyone's favourite day beginning in a Spoons and ending in Subby.

He said: "We'd go drink alcohol ... and that's probably all that we'd do. Where would we go in Glasgow, you and I? Where would I take you? We'd start in a Weathersoons.

"We'd maybe go to Subclub at the end, we'd two step the night away you and I. Then we'd wake up in the morning and do it all again."

All good choices Lewis - just share your table number and Glasgow will send you a drink!
