Lewis Capaldi and Paolo Nutini party at Glasgow hotel ahead of TRNSMT headliner

Lewis Capaldi went out two nights in a row ahead of his Scots headliner gig and even partied with Paolo Nutini in Amsterdam hotel at the start of the weekend.

The Amsterdam is the name of the former Brunswick hotel in Glasgow’s Brunswick street, and following Paolo’s big headliner in Friday night on Glasgow Green the lads decided to hit the town together.

Lewis, who told the Daily Record he was off the booze ahead of TRNSMT, went to the Amsterdam hotel a bit later on to show support for Paolo.

It’s believed he wasn’t drinking. Onlookers couldn’t believe it when they saw the two giants of Scottish music out together in Glasgow.

The Amsterdam also shared a picture of owner Michael Woods with Lewis’s fellow chart topper Paolo Nutini from the night and joked that his presence at the after show party was the ideal birthday present for Michael.

The hotel, bar and restaurant wrote on their Instagram page: “That was nice of @paolonutini to come down after his show to celebrate Big Mikes birthday. What a show Paolo!! And Happy Birthday Oor Michael.”

Lewis also visited La Lanterna restaurant in Great Western Road on Saturday evening ahead of his headliner at TRNSMT on Sunday - tonight.

He happily posed with staff who said they managed to tick his name off their list of celebrity clientele.

The restaurant said online today: “Lewis was missing on our list of celebrity guests - until last night! Now he's off to headline @trnsmtfest this evening!
