Lewis Burton has said it is "heartbreaking" he is unable to see his girlfriend Caroline Flack over Christmas.
The 27-year-old and former Love Island presenter, 40, are not allowed to see each other due to bail conditions placed on Flack.
Flack is accused of assaulting boyfriend Lewis Burton while he slept after seeing texts on his phone, Highbury Corner magistrates court heard today.
The presenter's lawyer said that Burton does not support the prosecution.
Following the hearing, Burton wrote on his Instagram story: “It’s heartbreaking I can’t see my girlfriend over Christmas.
He added: "Arguments do happen every day in every relationship.
“Gutted I am not allowed to protect her right now.”
Posting on her Instagram story, Flack also said: "Thankfully I know a lot of you will not believe all that you have heard and read following today's court hearing...
"Thank you for your continued support and love.
"It's going to be a relief when I am able to give my side of the story, when I am allowed to."
Flack was arrested in Islington, North London, on December 12, following reports of a man being assaulted. He was not seriously injured.
Her lawyer Paul Norris said that Burton had issued a statement through solicitors asking for the case against Flack to be dropped and “never supported the prosecution”.
District judge Julia Newton refused an application to remove bail conditions preventing her from contacting Burton directly or indirectly and from attending his address.
Flack was released on conditional bail before her trial on March 4, which is expected to last a day-and-a-half.
