Lewis Burton's heartbreaking final declaration of love to tragic Caroline Flack

Lewis Burton shared a heartbreaking photo declaring his love for girlfriend Caroline Flack the day before she was found dead aged 40.

A lawyer for the Flack family confirmed that the former Love Island host tragically took her own life and was found in her east London flat on Saturday.

Caroline's boyfriend Lewis posted a sweet message to her on Valentine's Day, the day before the troubled star took her own life.

He made a public declaration of love to his girlfriend after she was banned from contacting the tennis player directly and indirectly following her tearful appearance in court.

Caroline was charged with assault by beating after an alleged row broke out between the pair in her north London home in the early hours in mid-December.

He wrote: "Happy valentines [heart emoji] love you".

News of the star's death began to circulate on  Twitter this afternoon, leaving fans devastated.

Caroline had recently returned to the UK after retreating to Los Angeles in the aftermath of her arrest for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend.

The incident forced her to step down as host of Love Island, the show which had propelled her into the top tier of British celebrity.

Caroline was due to stand trial on March 4 after pleading not guilty to assault by beating following an early-morning altercation with her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Despite enjoying a hugely successful career with all the associated glitz and glamour, she had a troubled love life and was unable to find lasting happiness.
