Levi Brown named biggest Cardinals draft bust ever

No NFL team is perfect when it comes to the draft. Every team has notable busts. The Arizona Cardinals are not immune, especially considering their history. They have had several disappointing picks.

Who is the biggest bust of all?

According to sister site Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar, that would be tackle Levi Brown.

Selected by the Cardinals with the fifth pick in the 2007 draft out of Penn State, Brown gave up 55 sacks and 302 pressures from his rookie season through 2013. He also racked up 37 penalties and became one of the least effective offensive linemen of his generation. He did, however, earn three degrees, giving his off-field life a much higher success rate.

Cardinals fans long have hated that he was the selection. He managed to stick around for six seasons but the success of Adrian Peterson, a player they could have drafted instead, made things even worse.

Brown is certainly one of the biggest busts the Cardinals have had. Names like Andre Wadsworth, Jonathan Cooper, Tommie Knight and Matt Leinart come to mind.

If he isn’t the biggest bust, he is one of the biggest.
