'Level with Henry, better than Shearer' - Where Sergio Aguero ranks among Premier League greats

I've no idea where this Memory Lane place we all talk about is but it must be absolutely stacked with football fans.

There's nothing we like more than a good old nostalgic chinwag, and while Sergio Aguero's retirement is of course a sombre occasion for all Manchester City fans, it does at least afford us the chance to look back at the great man's illustrious City career.

260 goals, five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and more Carabao Cups than Ederson's got tattoos ensures he'll go down in English football history, but where does he rank among the greatest Premier League strikers of them all?

City Is Ours writer Alex Brotherton was joined by OneFootball's Dan Burke and former FourFourTwo writer Andy Murray to mull over whether they believe Aguero should be remembered as the greatest Premier League striker of all time.

"I would almost put him if not top of the tree, then very close to it," Dan said. "I think he's actually the most complete striker there has been in the Premier League.

"His strike rate is unbelievable, I think it's better than [Alan] Shearer's. Aguero's in the top 10 for left-footed goals scored in the Premier League, he's sixth for headers and second for goals scored from outside of the box - none of that is his trademark.

"You think of him as short, sharp chances about 10 yards out - goal, bottom corner, usually with his right foot.

"I think I'd have him as level with [Thierry] Henry maybe with Shearer just behind. Okay, other people have won more, [Wayne] Rooney won more titles, Shearer scored more goals, Henry you would maybe say was the more complete player, but those stats would indicate that perhaps he isn't.

"I would probably put Aguero and Henry at the top of the tree. Both are phenomenal, superb footballers.

"The way that Aguero just held himself, the fear he struck whenever he played. You could see the reaction of opposition defenders whenever he got the ball, you could see them thinking 'where is Aguero? I need to mark him', because a goal is pretty much guaranteed.

"I'd have him right up there. Well-rounded, could score any type of goal and just absolutely lethal. That's the one word I would associate him with, he was just lethal."
