'Levein Out' graffiti daubed on Hearts’ Foundation Plaza as calls for boss to go increase

Hearts’ Foundation Plaza has been vandalised as calls for Craig Levein to go intensify.

A mindless fan daubed the message "Levein Out" on the monoblock design that lies right outside Tynecastle following the club’s latest defeat.

Workers have since scrubbed off the graffiti on Thursday morning.

Supporters have hit out at the "idiotic" message as they branded it a "disgrace".

Hearts Rant posted on Twitter: "Mindless, idiotic vandalism. I’m as angry as anyone about the inaction from this board when it comes to Levein.

"There are many ways to ensure our voice is heard - this is not one of them!"

Hearts lost 1-0 to St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday night with supporters calling for the manager’s head.

As Christophe Berra’s own goal hit the back of the net they chanted, "Craig Levein, we want you to go".

St Johnstone fans joined in at the final whistle as they sang, “You’re getting sacked in the morning”.

Levein later insisted he will not be distracted from his goal of improving the team’s performance.

He is under intense pressure ahead of the Betfred Cup semi-final showdown against Rangers on Sunday.

But the head coach is not for moving. He said: “I understand the frustration of the supporters.

"Nobody wants to win games more than I do. Nobody has more of a vested interest in winning than I do.

“I have no qualms in them voicing their frustration. My job is not to get overly concerned about that. My job is to win football matches.

“Yesterday the league table did not look great and it’s not going to look great for the next few weeks, even if we win matches. I’m not going to focus on that.

“I want us to try and win football matches and make the fans happy by firing on all cylinders.”

The Tynecastle graffiti is the latest hate-filled incident to hit club staff.

In September a sick message was directed at club chief Ann Budge. The disgusting comment "Hang Ann Budge" was spray painted on a bridge over the Water of Leith at Murrayfield.
