'Levein out' graffiti appears outside Tynecastle following St Johnstone defeat

A fed up Hearts fan has taken the direct approach to letting the club know his feelings – by spray painting them on the ground in front of the stadium.

The “Levein Out” slogan appeared late last night after Hearts’ 1-0 loss at St Johnstone that left them in the Scottish Premiership relegation play-off spot.

Christophe Berra’s second half own goal condemned them to defeat and leaves Craig Levein’s side with just one win from the opening quarter of the league season.

The manager is now under extreme pressure from supporters ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi-final against Rangers.

And anyone entering the main stand at Tynecastle this morning would know it given the words daubed over a mosaic of the club badge situated on Foundation Plaza.

While mainly agreeing with the sentiment, fellow fans have slammed the vandalism of the club's crest in what is a significant location for them.

It has been a focal point of fan frustrations before this season.

A crowd gathered there following the 3-2 home defeat to Motherwell back in September.

Several tried to storm the front entrance, although it’s understood this was in response to provocation from fellow fans situated in the hospitality suites above rather than in protest at the manager.

Nevertheless, a heavy defeat to Rangers this weekend may mean owner Ann Budge feels she has a decision to make.
