In 1993 the Peter Moores Foundation bought the derelict building that was to become the Compton Verney art gallery, in Warwickshire. I was consultant to the project, and Alan Howarth was the local MP, for Stratford-on-Avon. He visited the project when it was still just a vision, and was a great help in advising on local matters.
Alan Swerdlow

One of Alan Howarth’s many contributions to the life of the House of Lords was his active support for a mindfulness programme. Many of us, including Alan himself, have benefited greatly from it.
Ruth Lister
