Thomas Baptiste was very proud of having helped to instigate pension provision for actors through their trade union, Equity. He also was thrilled that Sam Wanamaker invited him to join the board of his newly founded Globe theatre in London.
Tommy was an inventive cook, and a great host with some amazing stories. Shortly before his death he said to my daughter Zoe: “I could tell you my life story, but I don’t think anyone would believe it.”
