Stephen Plowden was a stalwart member of the cross-party New Dialogue group which included various MPs and activists. It campaigned from 1990 to increase understanding of Northern Ireland and Anglo-Irish issues, opposed paramilitary terror, not least after IRA murders in London, and advocated the measures that formed the basis of the Good Friday agreement. Stephen was a good and dedicated man with many strings to his bow.
