As an Independent councillor representing Golden Valley South, a large uncrowded area of Herefordshire, for the last six years of his life, Peter Jinman was simply outstanding. Being a retired farm vet gave him knowledge of every inch of the terrain and most of its people. His experience of national politics gave him exceptional insight into what could and – all too often – could not be done at local level. And his conscientiousness drove him the extra mile to achieve what was possible. The word “irreplaceable” has rarely been more apt.
