Letter of thanks for Newmains supermarket worker who assisted elderly couple locked out of their car

A caring Newmains supermarket worker went the extra mile for two elderly customers after they got locked out of their car.

Asda Newmains colleague, James O’Pray, has been praised for his excellent customer service after he went above and beyond for a couple who needed help.

When an elderly couple locked their keys in their vehicle, James used his initiative and immediately took action to help them get on the road again.

He checked if the shoppers were registered with the AA and made sure they were comfortable as they waited for the recovery vehicle.

Touched by his kindness, the couple wrote a letter to the store to ensure James was recognised for helping them out.

The couple said:“We really did appreciate James’ help and patience in getting the AA out to help us.

“There’s not many who would have done that. God bless him.”

Asda Newmains store manager, Ciaran Duffy, also applauded James for his act of kindness.

He added: “I think this story highlights James’s fantastic customer service and caring nature.

“He’s a very thoughtful colleague and this just proves what a great co-worker he is to have on our team!”
