Barry Millington’s excellent obituary of Michael Kennedy did not mention Michael’s role as president of the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society, in which he was active to the end of his life. This reflected his association and friendship with the composer (he was appointed by Vaughan Williams as his musical biographer), his early passion for his music, which lasted most of his long adult life, and his position at the forefront of VW studies and appreciation.
