Lorraine Tollemache was truly a remarkable person. I was immeasurably grateful to her for allowing me, a local heath visitor, to sit in on and indeed participate in her work with children aged under five whom I had referred to the Tavistock Clinic, where she was a senior clinical lecturer in the child and family department.
Her ability to transform young lives and her support for health visiting along enlightened mental health lines were very evident.
