Ion Trewin was my editor and publisher from 1998, and we worked on seven books together. His editorial advice greatly improved all of them. Our meetings with Judi Dench, Peter Ustinov and John Mills will always remain in my memory for the laughter and insight they generated on each occasion. Like so many authors, I owe him a tremendous debt.
