In the early 1960s the artist Ann Gillespie taught part-time at Kingston College of Art, now part of Kingston University London. Her enthusiasm inspired her students, of whom I was one, and it came as no surprise to learn that in mid-career she trained and worked as a children’s art therapist.
She was a people person, and could intuitively relate to the ideas and needs of others.
