Households across the UK received yet another financial hit as energy companies confirmed that the energy price cap will once again be on the rise in October.

Ofgem chief executive Jonothan Brearley advised that the energy price cap is expected to be "in the region of £2,800", and said: "Conditions have worsened in the global gas market since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine."

With these latest updates set to put yet more strain on people across the country as the cost of living crisis continues, we want to know what your feelings are about the situation.

The latest rise comes after another steep jump in April this year, which saw the energy price cap grow by £693 a year to £1,971.

Some readers have already made remarked on the rise, with one person pointing out: " How are people supposed to pay this?"

Another person shared their concerns for the future, saying: " I consider myself extremely lucky, I'm on a fixed deal until March 2024, but I'm going to have to start trying to put spare money away in readiness for when the deal ends."
