Let the star of the show name his planet

Newcastle-under-Lyme school pupil Tom Wagg discovered a new planet while on a work experience placement

I find it inconceivable that the university will not allow this clever lad to choose the name of the new planet he discovered (Something for the CV, 12 June). Just because other stars may have been named by competition does not mean it has to be so. I hope other people will join me in supporting him and I know this will be on social media.

• In Scotland the pronunciation of scone is unambiguous (Letters, 12 June); it rhymes with prawn. However, English visitors to Scone Palace must pronounce it to rhyme with school. Confused?
