Port Vale boss John Askey is keep on extended the loan of Nottingham Forest youngster Jake Taylor , according to Stoke-On-Trent Live .

The 21-year-old has impressed on loan in Staffordshire and on Saturday scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against local rivals Crewe Alexandra.

That was Taylor's fourth goal for Vale in just 13 appearances after penning a short-term loan deal with the Burslem outfit in August.

After his second-half strike won the game for the Valiants, Taylor said: "I am enjoying it first and foremost, I am loving my time at Vale, it is a great club with a great following.

"At the moment I am only thinking about playing well for Vale.

"I have got no interest in looking too far ahead, I just focus on the next game and the next training session and we will see what happens.

"Playing games is only going to develop me and I am getting the games here so let's see what happens."

But the report claims that Vale are keen on keeping Taylor, who started his youth career with Manchester United, with the club beyond the end of his loan which is set to expire on New Years' Day.
