'Let's pick them off' - how Nottingham Forest should go about beating Derby County

Weather permitting, Nottingham Forest and Derby County will reconvene their age-old rivalry at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds will come into the game in buoyant mood after rediscovering their winning touch at Luton last weekend, while for their part, the Rams have won four in a row at Pride Park, but things on the road haven’t been quite so positive.

Derby haven’t tasted victory since the opening night at Huddersfield, and will arrive at the City Ground smarting from away defeats at Charlton and Hull.

Forest have already seen off the Rams this season, winning 3-0 in the Carabao Cup at the City Ground in August, although both sides did make numerous changes.

Three points and retention of the Brian Clough Trophy would see Forest move up a place in the Championship, level on points with Preston who occupy second place.

Prior to the sold-out City Ground encounter, Barry Cooper previewed the big East Midlands clash with Steve Nicholson from Derbyshire Live.
