'Let's hope we are wrong': Leeds United fans have their say on team news at Chelsea

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has named his squad for the Premier League meeting with Chelsea, prompting disappointment and confusion from sections of the fanbase on social media.

Injuries have once again struck, leaving the Argentine without the likes of key figures Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford.

Three wingers, Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Daniel James, feature in the starting XI and Luke Ayling appears to have been moved inside to a central role in defence.

Despite the array of absences, Bielsa has kept young players such as Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt on the bench despite the impressions they have made this season.

@Ryan_Hussey tweeted: "I don't understand Bill (Luke Ayling) at centre-back, the yards he gets down the right is so crucial. Play Creswell, Luke (Ayling) on the right and that team is a lot better."

@Townend1919 tweeted: "Why do we have to change 100 positions for the sake of two injuries when we have players who can actually play their original positions?"

@superleedsmacca tweeted: "That bench is probably the thinnest bench you'll ever witness in Premier League history."

@Kershaw444 tweeted: "Not going to lie, I am not a big fan of the line-up. I don’t agree with others that Joe (Gelhardt) should be playing but (Charlie) Cresswell at centre-back, Ayling right-back, (Tyler) Roberts up front with (Mateusz) Klich in behind is what I would have looked at today, let’s hope we are wrong and Bielsa has a plan today that works."

@AidanCanavan tweeted: "Surely Raphinha as a 10, James out wide and Tyler as the nine is the far simpler solution?"

@Bromley_LUFC tweeted: "Cresswell and Joffy (Gelhardt) not getting their deserved chances once again, progress of those two is being hindered now. (There's a) injury crisis and still we choose to play people out of position instead."

@frontroweast tweeted: "Cresswell at centre-back would make more sense, to keep Ayling at right-back, Harrison and James on the pitch together just has not worked so far. Firpo will be crucial today, he absolutely must get into forward positions, otherwise we'll see no impact from Harrison."

Despite the clamouring for him to start, Cresswell has not been used from the start in the Premier League under Bielsa since his stellar display against West Ham United back in September.

Fellow prodigy Gelhardt has featured just once since his electric cameo against Wolves, starting and completing 87 minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last month.
