Let's Go Hydro issue statement as water activities close for 24 hours

A Co Down activity resort has closed its watersports and aqua park for 24 hours after a member of staff tested positive for Coronavirus today.

Let's Go Hydro said the member of 'back office staff' was not in contact with customers or the general public, but it has closed as an "extra precaution".

The office space has now had a deep clean and the resort has issued a statement.

A spokesperson said: "A member of back office staff not in contact with our customers and the general public, who was recently abroad, has tested positive today for Coronavirus.

"We have spoken to our local Council, Environmental Health and Northern Ireland track and trace for advice.

"We have put all recommendations in place that we have been given and taken all preventative measures for each area of the resort.

"The office space was closed down, deep cleaned and all office staff instructed to work from home.

"We can confirm that this is the first confirmed case of Coronavirus at Let’s Go Hydro.

"We don’t believe at this time that we need to close but as an extra precaution we have decided to close the watersports and aqua park for the next 24 hours."

The company added that all staff who have used the office space or "had close contact with the team member" have been told to self-isolate and get tested.
