Let's dig with Mr Biggs

Last month John Biggs AM asked the Mayor if the high salaries paid to his Director of Marketing and his Arts and Culture Adviser represented good tax-payer value when, in Mr Biggs's view, much of their work overlaps. He received a crisp written reply:

There is a very clear distinction between these two advisers. My culture advisor advises on strategy and sets the general direction, and my director of marketing is responsible for delivering that strategy....My administration has demonstrated to Londoners that we are ever watchful when it comes to the spending of public money.

This month Biggs has many, many further questions for the Mayor including this one:

Do all your advisers do a full week's work for you?

What on Earth is he implying?
