Arsenal fans have rallied around Aaron Ramsdale as he was confirmed as the Gunners’ fifth summer signing, as well as their second arrival on Friday alone.
The England stopper followed Martin Odegaard through the Emirates Stadium entrance door, with the Gunners finally sealing his signature following a protracted transfer saga.
As first reported by football.london , Arsenal had reignited their interest in the former Sheffield United stopper after talks had initially broken down with the Yorkshire outfit.
Fans were of a split opinion ahead of the confirmation, with many pointing to the back-to-back relegations on Ramsdale’s CV as reasons for Arsenal not to pursue his signature.
However, once his arrival was confirmed on Friday evening, Gunners supporters rallied and offered their support to the former Bournemouth man.

Ramsdale joins Arsenal having spent just a year at Bramall Lane with the Blades. Despite suffering demotion to the Championship, his form was good enough to see him earn a spot in the England squad for Euro 2020.
Arsenal have confirmed that Ramsdale has penned a ‘long-term’ deal with the club, thought to be four years with the option of a further year.
The Gunners have also revealed that the 23-year-old is set to don the number 32 shirt as an Arsenal player and he could be in line for his Arsenal debut against Chelsea on Sunday should the transfer pass through the standard regulatory checks.
