'Let joy be unconfined' - Leeds United fans rejoice as Marcelo Bielsa confirms he's staying

It may be two days before the season starts but Leeds United fans already have something to celebrate.

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed he is set to stay at the Whites for this upcoming season, explaining that agreeing a new contract will be a formality.

Whilst there was never any real concern that Bielsa would not sign a new contract this summer, some fans had started to voice questions that nothing had been announced with the season opener against Liverpool just around the corner.

Yet Bielsa has revealed the delay was due to him working so hard ahead of the Whites' return to the Premier League.

Here is a sample of how fans on social media reacted to the news.

Bielsa led the Whites to the Championship title last season, confirming their place back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

It was also the Whites' first trophy since 1992 as they finished 10 points clear of their nearest rivals.

The Whites have signalled their ambitions already in the summer market, breaking their transfer record to bring in Rodrigo from Valencia and defender Robin Koch.

Alongside that, they have been linked with audacious moves for Rodrigo De Paul and Julian Draxler.

Leeds begin their season on Saturday with a trip to defending Premier League champions Liverpool.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has already heaped praise on Bielsa pre-match, labelling him a world-class manager.

Klopp also admitted he expects a tough game against the Whites.

Following the trip to Anfield, the Whites then host Hull City in the Carabao Cup before facing Fulham in the first Premier League game to be hosted at Elland Road since 2004.

It will be Bielsa's third season in charge of the Whites and his first-ever season managing in the Premier League.
