'Let him start!' - Chelsea fans have one request for Frank Lampard ahead of Man United clash

Frank Lampard is set to rotate his Chelsea squad for tonight's Carabao Cup tie against Manchester United.

Being in Europe means the Blues are used to playing at least every three or four days, but injuries within the squad of late has meant some haven't been afforded a rest.

Furthermore, the likes of Olivier Giroud, Pedro, Willy Caballero, Emerson Palmieri and Reece James have had to stay patient whilst Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Marcos Alonso and company do no wrong during this seven-game winning streak.

Any changes Lampard does make will be with the "bigger picture" in mind.

"If there are players that step out of the line up with a view to the coming weeks then it will be done in the big picture," he told reporters on Tuesday afternoon. "I understand how players are and some of them want to play.

"We will try to have conversations to let them know what their position is. The players that start will give anything. The players that don't or out of the squad will be supporting hugely.

"That's how we will be successful."

One player who has only just returned to the starting line-up is Christian Pulisic and his confidence will be high after netting the perfect hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Burnley at the weekend.

But does that performance at Turf Moor mean he will be rested against United as Lampard looks ahead to Saturday evening's Premier League encounter with Watford?

Well, some Chelsea fans are hoping that's not the case as many are requesting that Pulisic keeps his place in the side for the visit of the Red Devils.
