Less popular than peas: Jeb Bush's $75 'Guaca Bowle' widely mocked

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has added a new and somewhat controversial item to his campaign store: the Guaca Bowle.

“Jeb and Columba love whipping up guacamole on Sunday Funday,” the website states. “Now, you can get in on the act with this ‘Guaca Bowle’.”

Bush’s bowl has already been widely criticized for its $75 price tag, the three-week wait before delivery and the total lack of branding for his campaign. But the real mystery surrounding the Guaca Bowle is not its price, shipping time or general appearance, it’s the guacamole recipe that the website states is a “secret” and “not included … yet”.

The Guardian reached out to Bush’s communications team to ask about the recipe. No response was received, but we continue to assume that the Bush’s go-to recipe does not include peas.

Following the launch of Bush’s campaign merchandise store, a satirical store has also been created. Its pricing ranges from free (but mandatory) for the red A’s that single mothers can iron “on your sweater so everyone can see that you deserve to be shamed”, to $2,016 for the stepping stool to help one “rise high enough to reach that pesky can of foie gras on the top shelf”.
