Lesmahagow start back training tonight (Thursday) and will use Newmains United’s Lanarkshire tournament as their pre-season.
New boss Neil Schoneville plans to run with a squad of 20, with several new faces to be announced, and is excited about the season ahead.
He said: “We start pre-season on Thursday, that will be our first session back, and then it will be Thursday, Saturday, Monday, Thursday, Saturday, all the way until the friendlies start, which is on May 29.
“We’re using the invitational tournament at Newmains as pre-season and I think our first fixture is against Royal Albert.
“There are six teams involved in that, so that will give us five friendlies from that tournament, which takes us to the end of June.
“We then have a couple of weeks before the league starts, so we’ll hope to get another couple of friendlies pencilled in.
“It’s trying to get the parks, that will be the problem.”
Schoneville says he feels like the West of Scotland League will be properly launched this coming season and is excited about the prospect ahead.
He said: “Last season was null and voided so this is a brand new start for everybody in the leagues, and I think there are a couple of new teams coming in as well.
“It will be good, it will be very exciting and I’m looking forward to it.”
