Les Misérables Concert cinema tickets: All-star West End show set to hit the big screens

Fans of Les Miserables who didn’t manage to get a ticket to the staged concert will be miserable no more – the show is being broadcast live into cinemas.

The concert version of Les Miserables starring Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Matt Lucas, opened at the Gielgud Theatre in August, and has been playing to sold-out audiences since.

Now cinemas across the UK and Ireland will screen the musical on December 2. Tickets will go on sale on November 4.

When tickets first went on sale in February for the concert, the booking site failed after tens of thousands rushed to get seats.

The concert version has Ball playing the vengeful inspector Javert, with Alfie Boe as protagonist and Javert’s arch-rival Jean Valjean. Carrie Hope Fletcher plays the tragic Fantine, with Matt Lucas taking the part of conniving pub landlord Thenardier. They lead a large cast and orchestra of more than sixty-five musicians.

The concert runs in the wake of the play closing at the Queen’s Theatre while it undergoes renovations. It will then reopen with the new version, currently touring the UK and Ireland, when the concert run has ended.

It has also been announced that the staged concert will embark on a tour of the UK and overseas in late 2020.
