Les Ferdinand delivers update on Eberechi Eze's QPR future amid Tottenham and Chelsea links

It's not just Jack Clarke and Luke Amos who Tottenham fans are keeping a close eye on at Queens Park Rangers this season.

With many keen to see how the duo do on loan at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium ahead of their return in the summer, Eberechi Eze is another player fans are also keeping tabs on.

The attacking midfielder has made a huge impression in the Championship since making his debut back in January 2017 and he seems destined to have a huge future in the game.

Spurs are one of a number of Premier League clubs to have been linked with the player in the past and a move to the top flight looks likely to happen sooner rather than later.

Jose Mourinho: I have no complaints about my players

The 21-year-old has netted 11 goals for Mark Warburton's side so far this campaign and he also has six assists to his name in his 36 appearances.

QPR are currently 13 points off the play-off places with 12 games left to play and they look certain to be playing Championship football in 2020/21 once again unless they put a stunning run of results together between now and May.

Missing out on a Premier League place also means that Eze could be on his way given the amount of interest in the England U21 international.

So how hard is it going to be to keep hold of their star man?

"It's going to be very difficult," said director of football Les Ferdinand in an exclusive interview with football.london. "When you have a player of his quality doing well in your team nobody wants to see him go.

"I had to fend off a few offers in the January window and, I'm sure if he continues to play in the manner he is playing and adds a few more goals to his game, I'm expecting us to get offers in during the summer."

It's not just Spurs who have been linked with the player as London rivals Chelsea have also been mooted regarding a move for Eze.

The player will certainly not be short of offers if he is to move on and Ferdinand believes he has a huge future in the game.

"I think if you look at his ability, I see him playing for one of the top six sides," added the ex-Spurs frontman.

"I see him playing for England or he can play for Nigeria as well, so we'll see him on the international scene because of his ability. He's certainly got the ability to do that.

"There's a few more bits and pieces to add to his game but those bits and pieces are going to come.

"I've no danger in seeing those bits and pieces come. He'll go all the way."

Les Ferdinand was speaking to football.london ahead of Prostate Cancer UK's Football to Amsterdam bike ride in June.
