Les Dennis' jibe about Amanda Holden and Neil Morrissey affair

Les Dennis has made an hilarious remark about his ex-wife Amanda Holden's affair with Neil Morrisey.

Les was speaking to Christopher Biggins on a new podcast when he referenced Amanda's infidelity.

The former Coronation Street star was chatting about his career with panto legend Biggins on the podcast - reports Birmingham Live.

During the conversation Les couldn't help but touch on Amanda's famous affair with Neil Morrissey.

Amanda has previously said that the aftermath of the affair was a "dark time".

Speaking about the time he starred with Mickey Rooney on stage in a panto Les said that the theatre would wind Mickey up by playing Frank Sinatra tunes before they took to the stage.

Les said: “Mickey would get very angry, because of course, Frank Sinatra ran off with Ava Gardner [Mickey’s wife].

"It would’ve been like me having to listen to Bob The Builder every night.”

Les has a son named Philip from his first marriage to Lynne Webster, which lasted from 1974 to 1990.

He married actress Amanda Holden on June 4, 1995. They had a temporary split in 2000 when Holden's affair with actor Neil Morrissey was exposed in the press, before eventually separating in December 2002 and divorcing in 2003.

Last year, Amanda said: "I brought it on myself, I appreciate that, but nothing will ever be as bad again.

"It was a very dark time. It got to the point where I felt I could hardly breathe.

"Les proved to be my saviour, ironically. So the person I'd hurt the most in the world was the one who was there for me."
