Leroy Sane urged to quit Manchester City for Bayern Munich by Germany teammate

Leroy Sane has been urged to quit Manchester City for Bayern Munich by his Germany team-mate Serge Gnabry.

The 23-year-old winger is a target for the German champions but Bayern may be forced to pay as much as £90million for his services.

Despite the fact that Sane would rival Gnabry for his place, the former Arsenal winger said: “I would love to have him in my team. We get along really well, also off the pitch,.

“He would help any team and it's very fun for me to play with him. He would be a real asset for Bayern Munich.”

Pep Guardiola is expected to perform surgery on his Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup winners this summer with Sane expected to be one of the biggest casualties.

Bayern club president Uli Hoeness has already admitted the club want to sign Sane but have so far been priced out by City’s “insane” financial demands.

Gnabry’s comments follow those of another Bayern star, Joshua Kimmich who claimed Sane would be “a good fit” for the serial Bundesliga winners last week.

The ex-Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen wideman found himself on the bench for City towards the end of last season with both Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva ahead of him in the pecking order.

Gnabry added: "I would say hello to him with a special handshake. I’ve already asked him about this topic, but he is the only one who can tell us what will happen.”

Germany continue their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign against Estonia on Tuesday night with Sane and Gnabry both expected to be involved.
