Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich: Man City’s ‘insane’ demands make transfer unlikely, claims Uli Hoeness

Leroy Sane is "unlikely" to complete a transfer to Bayern Munich this summer because of Manchester City's "insane" demands.

That's according to Bayern president Uli Hoeness, who has made signing Sane a top priority for the German giants this summer with both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery recently ending their long tenures at the club.

Sane, whose contract at City expires in 2021, is yet to negotiate a new deal at the club although coach Pep Guardiola insisted the winger's lack of game time last term was not linked to the protracted talks.

Yet despite Bayern's concrete interest in bringing Sane back to the Bundesliga, president Hoeness is doubtful about getting a potential deal over the line.

Pep Guardiola insists contract stalemate not the reason behind Leroy Sane's lack of starts

Speaking to German magazine Kicker, Hoeness said: "You have to be a bit sceptical. It is unlikely that it will work.

"It's about sums, they're insane."

City signed Sane from Schalke in the summer of 2016, with the Germany international going on to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award for his exploits during his second season at the club, when City broke several records to land the Premier League title.

But the arrival of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester last summer condemned Sane to a mostly substitute role for the 2018-19 campaign, although Guardiola insisted Sane "knows the reason why" he didn't play more regularly last season.
